At Nashville General Hospital, we believe that art plays a vital role in enhancing the healing environment for our patients and their families. Through the Art Collection Fund, we support the acquisition, maintenance, and display of original artwork across our hospital and clinical campuses. We also fund the Art Therapy Program, bringing comfort, inspiration, and therapeutic benefits to those in our care.

Why Art at Nashville General?

Research shows that art in healthcare settings serves as a “healthy distraction,” helping to ease patient anxiety and stress. By focusing on soothing, engaging, and uplifting artwork, we aim to make our hospital a more welcoming and calming space. Our collection emphasizes original works from local Nashville artists, enriching both our community and the hospital experience.
