The Hardy Fund focuses on providing psycho-social support to patients and their families. This includes services like the Food Pharmacy and essential items such as wigs and prostheses. Named in honor of Robert E. Hardy, this fund reflects his dedication to improving patients’ quality of life.
Wolff Fund
The Wolff Fund offers vital clinical assistance to patients who cannot afford essential medical items like oxygen, anti-nausea medications, and nutritional supplements. Honoring Dr. Wolff, a beloved leader in our cancer program, this fund continues his legacy of compassionate care. Dr. Wolff was posthumously awarded the Harry Hynes Award from the NIH and the Distinguished Healer award from Meharry Medical College for his dedication to providing cancer care to underserved populations.
Team Chad Fund
The Team Chad Fund offers non-clinical aid to oncology patients, providing crucial support for rent, utilities, medically guided foods, and transportation for essential services. Inspired by Chad Welch, a beloved leukemia patient, this fund is dedicated to easing the financial burdens that cancer patients and their families face, ensuring they receive the support they need throughout their treatment.
Women’s Health Fund
The Women’s Health Fund is dedicated to promoting comprehensive healthcare for women. This includes preventive care such as mammograms and gynecological exams, as well as initiatives to improve heart health and address healthcare disparities. By supporting the Women’s Health Fund, you help improve overall health outcomes and quality of life for women across Nashville, empowering them to lead healthier lives through education, screening services, and access to high-quality medical care.
Behavioral Health Fund
The Behavioral Health Fund is dedicated to enhancing mental wellness programs at Nashville General Hospital. This fund covers costs for acute visits and includes a Med-to-Bed program, which ensures patients receive their prescribed medications before discharge. In partnership with Nashville General Hospital, the Foundation drives community impact through programs like The Food Pharmacy, which provides no-cost totes filled with nutritious food for patients with chronic diseases; the All Weather Wellness Fund, which offers clothing and essential hygiene products to those in need; and the Health Literacy program, which educates the community on understanding medical information for better healthcare outcomes.
Food As Medicine Fund
This fund embraces the philosophy that ‘Food is Medicine.’ Our mission is to provide nutritious meals to vulnerable patients facing food insecurity and chronic illnesses. By addressing these dual challenges, we aim to prevent and manage chronic diseases through the power of healthy nutrition.
Your contributions to the Food As Medicine Fund directly benefit Nashville General Hospital’s Food Pharmacy. This crucial program combats food insecurity by offering no-cost food totes filled with fresh produce and shelf-stable items, tailored to meet the specific dietary needs of patients with chronic conditions. In 2021 alone, the Food Pharmacy provided food prescriptions to over 1,100 patients, helping them manage their health and improve their quality of life through better nutrition.
All-Weather Wellness Fund
The All-Weather Wellness Fund supports vulnerable patients year-round. In winter, it provides warm clothing like hats, gloves, and coats. In summer, it supplies essentials such as Crocs, hygiene products, and light apparel. Your donations enhance comfort and health outcomes across all seasons, ensuring that patients receive the necessary support no matter the time of year.
Art Collection Fund
The Art Collection Fund at Nashville General Hospital is dedicated to enhancing the healing environment for patients and their families. It supports purchasing and maintaining an art collection on the hospital and clinical campuses and funds the NGH art therapy program.
