I like to help people and make new friends; Nashville General allows me to do both. People come to the hospital because they need help and the fine professionals at NG deliver the needed service. Each day I see good things happening; it's rewarding to be a part of a team helping others.

Volunteering for the hospital fulfills me in several ways. To put things in context I drive a shuttle transporting folks from the parking garage to the hospital. 1- I enjoy meeting the many people I encounter and the stories I have from some of those encounters. 2- It is a way to give back to the community. Most folks enjoy the ride and for some it’s almost essential. 3- I have learned much about the hospital and it’s mission. I enjoy and am proud to be a small part of it. 4- I’m retired, selfishly it gives me something to do that I enjoy. Also, it gets me out of the house before the wife kicks me out! 5- I enjoy the sense of belonging. The staff at the hospital is very welcoming and makes you feel like you’re a part of things. I could go on but there you have it!
